    Απεβίωσε στα 55 του ο συνιδρυτής και θρυλικός κιθαρίστας των Ramones, Johnny Ramone. Ο Ramone είχε προσβληθεί από καρκίνο του προστάτη εδώ και πέντε χρόνια και το βράδυ της Τετάρτης 15 Σεπτεμβρίου βρέθηκε νεκρός καθώς κοιμόταν στο σπίτι του στο Los Angeles. "Ήταν άνθρωπος με στρατηγική. Ήταν ένας άνθρωπος που όχι μόνο φρόντιζε για το συμφέρον της μπάντας, αλλά και την προστάτευε" αναφέρει ο Arturo Vega, σχεδιαστής εικαστικών του συγκροτήματος. Ο Ramone, το κανονικό όνομα του οποίου είναι John Cummings, είχε νοσηλευτεί στο Cedars-Sinai Medican Center τον περασμένο Ιούνιο για προβλήματα που παρουσίασε στην υγεία του.
