There were doubts and questions about whether or not "Fargo" could step out from the shadow of the Coen brothers (who are producers on the show) monumental film and stand on its own.
But any fears were put to rest with a first season that earned critical acclaim, found an audience and wound up with a massive 18 Emmy nominations. Not too shabby, and FX is ready for more.
The network announced today at the Television Critics Association that they're renewing "Fargo" for a second season, with a premiere date set for next fall.
"The new chapter of the 'Fargo' story will feature an all-new cast of characters, a new time period and a new 'true crime' story that will unfold over the course of 10 episodes," FX said in a statement.
And they aren't messing with the formula either, with Noah Hawley—who wrote the first season—back for the next run of episodes as well. As for the plot details? None yet.
