CD. Πέρα απ'τη συναισθηματική αξία που έχει για μερικούς το βινύλιο, δεν έχει κανένα άλλο πλεονέκτημα. Ο χρόνος δε φθείρει τα CD, έχουν βολικό για μεταφορές μέγεθος, πρέπει να είσαι πραγματικά απρόσεχτος για να τα γρατσουνίσεις και αντέχουν σε σχετικά ακραίες θερμοκρασίες. Επίσης, το discman είναι ιδιαίτερα βολικό για ταξίδια.
Από άποψη ηχητικής απόδοσης, πράγματι τα βινύλια είναι ελαφρώς καλύτερα, ωστόσο η ποιότητα τους χαλάει σημαντικά καθώς περνάει ο χρόνος (από τη βελόνα του πικάπ).
