Following closely on the cape-covered heels of the vinyl-only Malevolent Grain EP, Wolves in the Throne Room's LP Black Cascade (assumedly a reference to the band's birthing place, at the foot of the Cascade Mountains in Washington state) finds the eco-spiritualist black metal ensemble further expanding its psychedelic, deeply ritualistic sound. This one features new guitarist Will Lindsay (also of Middian), who was added to the official band line-up after the release of the band's last epic, Two Hunters. It was recorded onto two-inch tape and mixed on a 1973 Neve console by producer Randall Dunn, which all but guarantees that it'll be just as organic-sounding as Wolves in the Throne Room's past work.
