Αγαπημένη γλώσσα προγραμματισμού
Μιας και σε δυο τόπικ ψιλοαναφέρθηκε το θέμα, ποιά/ποιές είναι οι αγαπημένες σας γλώσσες προγραμματισμού;
Προσωπικά, μ'αρέσει πολύ η O'Caml. Συμπαγής, εύχρηστος κώδικας, συναρτησιακή γλώσσα. Τα τελευταία 4 χρόνια στους παγκόσμιους διαγωνισμούς προγραμματισμού, όπου μπορείς να γράψεις σε όποια γλώσσα θες, οι νικητές είχαν γράψει σε O'Caml.
Από διαδικαστικές γλώσσες, η Java και C#. Η C++ μπορεί να καταντήσει απίστευτα κουραστική, λόγω της εκτενής χρήσης των pointer.

Τώρα τι παίζει;
Στο Πολυτεχνείο, Fortran τους μαθαίνουν. Στο Μαθηματικό παλιά Fortran, μετά σκέφτηκαν την Pascal και κατέληξαν σε MATLAB.

Η Fortran έχει επιζήσει μόνο επειδή το ήδη υπάρχον λογισμικό γραμμένο σε αυτή θα κόστιζε πολύ να ξαναγραφτεί σε άλλη γλώσσα. Κατά τα άλλα, είναι κυριολεκτικά απαράδεκτη.
